Teltonika RUT950 for 4G CCTV Access
If you are installing a CCTV NVR, for example a Hikvision CCTV NVR solution and you want to connect your NVR to the Internet but do not have access to a wired broadband service or your customer does not want you to connect the NVR to their office router then an option would be 4G CCTV access. You would use the Teltonika RUT950 4G Router with a Fixed IP SIM Card to provide a 4G Internet connection with a fixed, public IP address. This means that you can connect to the RUT950 4G router from anywhere on the Internet and use port forwarding to connect to your HIKVISION CCTV NVR.
The Teltonika RUT950 is a secure 4G router to prevent unauthorised access to the router configuration, but ensure that you properly configure all the security features of your Teltonika Router to prevent unauthorised access.
You can of course use a Private Fixed IP SIM card service that will provide the RUT950 router with a 4G internet connection but with a private IP address that can’t be accessed directly from the internet, thus preventing unauthorised access to your router and CCTV NVR. Using the RUT950 with a private fixed IP SIM card will mean that when you want to connect to the router / CCTV NVR you would create a VPN from your PC to your fixed IP sim card provider and you would then be able to access the RUT950 / CCTV NVR.
